The Hackett Community Association is a not-for-profit incorporated association and it is the official representative organisation for the suburb for dealing with Government.
The Association’s Mission is promoting the well-being of the Hackett community by protecting and enhancing the social, cultural and physical environment.
The Association needs to demonstrate that it is actively engaged with the local community and that the community supports the Association in its representative role to effectively influence Government policy development and decision making impacting on the lifestyle of Hackett residents.
The Government looks to the activities of the Association such as the frequency of its meetings and contact days and the size of its membership base to assess the level of engagement of the Association with the local community.
A recent review of paid membership numbers has confirmed that numbers have declined significantly and the Association is now seeking to increase these numbers by appealing to lapsed members to renew their membership and for residents who have yet to join the Association to sign up.
The cost of membership is very affordable at $7.50 per household, $5 for an individual and businesses and $2 concession for students and anyone on government benefits. Joining is also very easy via the online joining process by CLICKING HERE.
Residents can also pay in person by attending the Hackett Community Association 2017 Annual General Meeting in Meeting Room 2 in Maitland House at 100 Maitland Street (adjacent to Blue Gum School) at 7.30 pm on Wednesday 13 September 2017.
